Productive skills course

The main aim of the Pre-sessional is to ensure that you reach the language requirements for your chosen degree. In addition, you will: 

get to know online platforms and systems before starting your degree
improve your ability to use academic English appropriately and effectively at university level 
improve your writing and speaking skills to help you write assignments, do research, participate in lectures and communicate effectively with your tutors and classmates 
be introduced to UK academic culture

You will be taught through a combination of the following: 

Group classes, lectures and tutorials
Guided online lesson preparation
Group and individual tasks
Support from your tutor via messages outside class

Throughout the course you will receive feedback on your work to enable you to monitor your own progress and develop your skills. 

You will also have the option to participate in online social gatherings.

This is an 4-week intensive course with daily classes and activities.

You will attend classes every day and will have formative and summative assessment assignments. Your tutor will help you throughout the course both in class and outside of class.

You can expect to learn about:

Academic writing: writing academically, citing sources, critical thinking and more
Academic Speaking: participate in seminars, give academic presentations, improve your fluency and pronunciation.
Academic skills: time management, avoiding plagiarism, doing research
